Separation of Church
and State
Tom Brodrick
Have you heard the statement,
"separation of Church and State"?
We've all had this quoted
at us at one time or another. It's always used when there is any kind of
religious expression near a tax payer supported establishment. Examples
you've probably heard of are things like, a nativity scene at city hall,
or the ten commandments posted in a courtroom or school, or even the words,
"In God We Trust" on our money.
It's always brought up as a constitutional issue. The accusers claim that you are violating the constitution, and they are merely protecting their "constitutional rights".
Over the years I've heard many examples of how the middle east, with it's radical islamic extremists, is a prime example of what happens when you mix religion with government. It didn't matter what kind of religion, just "religion" in general.
The Constitution doesn't condone the separation of Church and State. These words are not in the Constitution and most people don't realize it. The News Media pushes it's liberal agenda and chants this deception in every situation that involves Religion.
The first Amendment is where they derived this supposed "law".
It reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
These are the words that our legal system turned into "Separation of Church and State". Do you think our founding fathers were worried about religion creeping into government? or possibly the other way around?
Many non-Christians feel that
the founding fathers were atheists, probably since they also think they
made a law forbidding the mixing of Church and State.
You'll find that they were
very Christian, and based their principles and morals on the Bible.
It seems that they feared
a government with leaders who were not Christian.
Read some Quotes from our
founding Fathers and
judge for yourself.
"It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."
"...The Smiles of Heaven can never be expected On a Nation that disregards the eternal rules of Order and Right, which Heaven Itself Ordained."
"Let us raise
a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the rest is in the
hands of God."
And some others:
"I have lived,
sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see
of this truth-- God
Governs in the
Affairs of Men, And if a Sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His
notice, Is it possible that
an empire can rise without His aid?" Benjamin
Franklin
"Except the Lord
build the house, They labor in vain who build it." "I firmly believe this."
Benjamin
Franklin
"If we make religion
our business, God will make it our blessedness." John
Adams
"We've staked
the whole future of American civilization not on the power of government,
far from it. We
have staked
the future of all our political institutions upon the capacity of each
and all of us . . . to Govern
ourselves according
to the commandments of God.
The future and
success of America is not in this Constitution, but in the laws of God
upon which this
Constitution
is founded." President James Madison
This country was founded by
Christian men, on Christian principles. It has been the greatest country
in the history of the world, until its people moved away from the foundation
it was built on.
History shows, that men learn
nothing from History.
